Lean Agent

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : 

  • deploy and executes the implementation of the Duvaltex Way program:
    -analyze operational workflow
    -plan and deployment activities through Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology
    -organizes Kaizen activities
  • audits the system (Gemba walks):
    -Standard instructions
    -Cascade meetings
    -Problem solving / root cause
  • establish measurable project standards and generate follow-up reports and/or presentations for management on a regular basis
  • identifies the gaps and ensures that the corrections are put in place
  • develop standardized work instructions to ensure that they are properly taught by the TWI (Training within industry) method
  • coordinate and teach problem-solving culture to production and support teams
  • supports the employee suggestion system with the site's production manager
  • teach and ensure the implementation of the various Lean tools and techniques
  • keep value chain maps up to date
  • consistently lead and mentor all employees in the Duvaltex Way system
  • acts as an agent of change
  • execute and carry out continuous improvement projects to remove wastes and improve operational efficiencies
  • participate in the definition and implementation of the site-related annual strategic improvement plans
  • performs any other task required by its function
  • perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
  • follow safe work practices
  • support LEAN, safety, sustainability, and environmental initiatives

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Lean manufacturing experience is required
  • Project management experience is required
  • Mastery of the Office Suite
  • must be dependable, punctual, and adhere to attendance policy
  • excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • ability to self-manage with strong interpersonal skills
  • must adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • ability to work closely and successfully with shop floor employees
  • ability to effectively collaborate with various internal departments
  • maintain a valid US passport and ability to travel to Canada

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Technical or college degree preferred with knowledge of industrial engineering
  • Green Belt certificate or equivalent is an asset

Physical Demands

  • must be able to lift between 5 and 10 pounds consistently (normal office work lifting) and up to 25 pounds or more occasionally
  • extensive walking and/or sitting may be required
  • extensive use of keyboards/computer terminals, and phones/headsets
